"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it."
Well I’m glad Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott are having a great time ruining our lives.
SPREAD THIS VIDEO, IT IS AMAZING.
Watch this. Watch it. I don’t care if you’re not a Sherlockian, just fucking watch it. This damn fandom is beautiful, and clever, and UNITED in a way I have never seen before, and I am overwhelmingly proud to be a part of it.
Guilty!
I’M LOOKING MOFFAT.
“It’s something that Sherlock did that was very out of character, but which nobody has picked up on.”
But if he can act/do things OOC on command, how can you even spot the ooc?! Because he could’ve done it on purpose, which would make it IC, not ooc! And he can’t mean the crying on the roof, because that’s too obviously an ooc, that’s too easy.
We know Sherlock knew he was going to have to feign his death and that people really had to believe it, mostly the ones close to him because it would be very suspicious if they weren’t torn with grief after his suicide.
If they knew Sherlock was faking his death, their behaviour wouldn’t be right, they wouldn’t be able to act the right way because they would KNOW he isn’t dead. You CAN’T act genuine devastation, grief and sorrow. It’d be noticeable if they had to act it. To make the world really believe he’s dead, he had to make the people close to him believe it too.(And here Molly is in an awesome position with her “I don’t count”.)It’s the only way to get the media and the criminals off their back, to assure his friends are safe once again.
BUT Moffat said specifically “It’s something that Sherlock did..” and if it honestly is OOC, then it’s a specific action. He did or did not do something (he wasn’t concious of? unconscious reaction/action could be ooc for him, but he’s still a human being…), and there’s a bunch of those.
I sort of have a list, but it’s probably waaaay too long and maybe it doesn’t even make much sense because I considering quit a lot of possibilities. Actually, now that I’m finished, I don’t even know the point of finding that OOC thing was anymore. Can someone remind me? I’d be happy if you added your own ideas or corrected one of my own.
EDIT: WHY AM I EVEN BOTHERING, read this instead.
Guys, there’s something about Sherlock at the end of The Fall that I noticed.
He grabs and holds Moriarty out over the edge, angry, which is very odd. Sherlock didn’t show anger at Sally or Anderson or any of them. But he “gets mad,” holds Moriarty over the edge, and says he’s insane.
Well, if you were hanging halfway off a building, you’d be visible to people below. It was a signal! The street was empty. When Sherlock lets him up, people are below and Moriarty says “Oh, look, you’ve got a crowd.”
My theory is that Sherlock signaled his Homeless Network then, so that they’d know he’d be falling soon. Everything from here on out is wild speculation.
Steven Moffat on Sherlock’s “Death”
‘It’s all set up. We just want people to be in a frenzy of speculation.’ He added that he would not be revealing any more clues, saying: ‘We’re going to be complete bitches about it.’
Please note…I did not personally notice this…I was talking to a fellow Sherlock fan who pointed this out to me…i only just re-watched the episode to see what she was talking about. AND SHE WAS RIGHT
When Sherlock fell from the building…his shirt changed colour. This may support the ‘body swap…
How Sherlock is Written
- ~epic cliffhanger~
- Gatiss: So... what do we do now?
- Moffat: No idea. How the hell did he survive that?
- Gatiss: Why didn't we think of this...?
- Moffat: Don't worry, we have another 18 months to find a way to get out of it.
- Gatiss: And by we you mean by reading the fandom's fanfiction to see if there's some clever way out, right?
- Moffat: Obviously.
- Gatiss: Brilliant!
